TYLER’s Journey - Decentralized Leaking Platform
Tyler now implemented on the RetroShare platform as a pre-beta “Tyler Network” has been an idea within the Anonymous Hivemind for about two years now. The first encounter with Tyler was brought up by ProjectMayhem2012.org or the #PM2012Crew on a forum that many of you might remember called WITP(Whatis-theplan.org), which can still be viewed here.
The idea was to create a massively distributed and decentralized Wikipedia style p2p cipher-space structure. In other words a leaking platform with no central authority. With Project Mayhem 2012’s call to “leak it all” and for coders to develop TYLER, many artist sprung into action to further spread the call.
rEVOLUTIONART2012’s “Call to HackZION” video initially kicked off the “code Tyler” phase of Project Mayhem2012 leading Anons to gather on Galatorg.com and Telecomix.com to finally brainstorm ideas for Tyler. Over a short period of time the Telecomix Tyler pad went down along with the site due to a massive ddos, this certainly provided a huge blow to Anons gathered there and to Tyler’s development seeing as this was the focal point for Tyler’s brainstorming. The pad was never revived and all that remains are back ups for the pad on Pastebin. (Here is the second last update.)
As 12.21.2012 arrived and no sight of Tyler, a tweet from Anons emerged claiming they will be releasing their own Tyler dubbed Project Diskord. A network on RetroShare with the goals of creating a social media network with a strong stance on privacy, to share information and leaks. Anons have since gathered there to further improve the network to make a more safe and user friendly environment. As of now this is where Tyler is being implemented. Whether Tyler remains on RetroShare or moves onto being it’s own platform remains to be seen.
